trauma: facing up a fire

yup it really did happened to my mom house.

ni masa jan 3, 2013.

i was at worked. my kids, my stroke dad and my mom at home and this happened during the night. i got a call informing there's a fire at my neighbours' behind my mom's' house.

Subhanallah! I was so scared and a lot of things running around my head on the way back. When I arrived the road towards my mom's already full with people and I can see smokes and fires still soaring like nobodys business. Masha Allah!

I parked by the roadside and ran towards my moms house and on my way I saw my brother. Alhamdulillah everyone is okay.

My dad was carried to my neighbour house.( he had his slip disc and can't walked normally ) and my moms with my kids. I was so glad to see them all well.

Apparently, the fire did happened so fast and Alhamdulillah the wind blowing opposite of our house so it got spared. No major damages just the roof behind got into the fire and the water tank.

I feared for my children safety and my parents also. Allah has taken care of them Alhamdulillah.

so, just want to share some tips if we had to face this kind of emergency ( which involved fire )

1. it would be really handy to have your important documents kept in 1 bag only or organize 1 personal files for all family members in case you need to take it.

2. however, if its not within your reach, just leave it be and get out fast!

3. feel a door before you open it. if it is hot, there may be a fire behind it. use other route to escape.

4. stay low to the floor. Since smoke arises, the safest air to breath is the down low

5. call the emergency number.

6. once you are out, stay out.

May Allah protects us from all harm.
